The crisp and cold November dries
My lips.
The leaves fall off the trees -
Eclipse
Of day, the nights grow long
As darkness slowly sings its song.
This night the Heavens dance for me,
While stars
Shine bright for all to see
And snow-
Flakes spark upon the ground
(Their silence in itself, a sound).
My heart, embraced, sets free my mind.
My soul,
It soars through space and time...
While cheeks
Are numbed by glacial air
And icy winds wisp through my hair.
I wait: The Earth, so peaceful, stirs...
The sky -
Dark palette; color smears
And warmth
Upon horizon seeps
To meet the frozen diamond peaks.
My circumstance becomes more clear
Through eyes
Still fogged by winter tears...
I catch
Myself adrift below;
A vessel on the melting snow.

misspulga's Reina de los Muertos Hallowe'en Makeup
Last Hallowe'en, misspulga was inspired by sugar skulls to create this one-of-a-kind "Reina de los Muertos" costume. All makeup was original, and hand-painted by misspulga herself. She submitted her photo to the epic Skull-A-Day blog, and had the privilege of being featured on their site [link to blog post].
After a ghoulishly festive All Hallow's Eve with the Vampire and the Werewolf at the Vampire's lair, misspulga returned home and started morphing back into her daytime persona (as can be seen in the photograph below). ;-)

Matt Webb and his Pug Pillow
![]() |
| "...pug pillows for all!" - Matt Webb |
This picture is taken from one of Matt's videos where he serenades us, and tells us to check out his EP called Coda and Jacket, with the promise of pug pillows for all who give it a spin (see video at link below)!
I already own the EP - I love it and and it gets played a lot! It didn't actually come with a pug pillow, but if it did...
...I'd give it to misspulga!

misspulga's New Skull Clutch
Check out this awesome skull clutch recently acquired by misspulga!!! It's in the Alexander McQueen style, but made by Baci Couture. The construction is solid, and it comes with two straps of varying lengths that you can switch or remove depending on your outfit/mood. Perfect for a night out on the town... Hallowe'en, New Year's Eve... or just any day of the week (if you're like me).
I had seen these online in various colours, but didn't know where to purchase one until I stumbled across them at The Shoe Company... while hunting for glow-in-the-dark zombie pumps (which sadly, they did not have).
As a side note, if anyone knows where to purchase zombie pumps in Toronto, please leave me a comment... I would purchase them online, except I want to be able to try them on first to make sure they fit! >:-)

Epic Sand Sculptures at the CNE 2012!!!
![]() |
| misspulga morphing into Rowena. |
Well, it's time I posted photos from the Canadian National Exhibition (long overdue, actually). They had the the most amazing sand sculptures this year... I didn't happen to catch the artist's name, so if anyone has this information could you please forward it along to me? The sculptor is insanely talented, to say the least!!! Also, please enjoy the photos I took of the rock garden, the little piglets, and a view of the midway. <3 Toronto <3

Quote of the Day: SSWC Authors Edition
misspulga: "What does dread taste like??"
The Vampire: "Dread has a chewy mouthfeel, and has disconcerting, lively acidity on the palate, with an uncomfortably long finish."
