Corpse Cycle

When in Bath, Somerset recently, this caught my eye.

It's actually promoting a walk they run in Bath each night called the Bizarre Walk.  Comedy horror anyone?

Native Boutique in Hollywood, California

SSWC reader Chris Parkinson from California sent us these photos of "Native Boutique": A store in Hollywood that features various types of women's clothing, including a "crack rack" which has this-and-that type items that they are trying to move to a lower price. Apparently, they have epic jewelry too. These pictures feature Native Boutique's 2012 Hallowe'en displays. Thanks to our US friends for your contributions... Keep the photos coming! :-)

Death Triumphant

Another epic piece of art.  Created around 1670, Death Triumphant hails from Germany, possibly Bavaria.  If you are ever in Toronto, Canada, you can visit this battle scarred, yet victorious-looking skeleton at the Art Gallery of Ontario, where it is part of their Thompson Collection.

Marianas Trench...by August Burns Red!

A little metal...a little Marianas Trench, courtesy of August Burns Red. The band ran a "make an epic music video" contest for this song, and here is the awesome fan-made result! The star of the video is Mariana, by the way, and I think we can all guess the bit about the Trench.

Who is Rick Genest?

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"

Lady Gaga Remix for Mugler Fashion Show

Well, he's Canadian... that's for starters. Born and raised in Quebec, Rick started his tattoo journey at the age of 16. Now 26, he's spent $17,000 (and counting) on his body art, which now covers more than 80% of his body. His friends nick-named him "Zombie Boy" for obvious reasons.

In January 2011, Lady Gaga's personal stylist - and the creative director of famed Paris fashion house Thierry Mugler - Nicole Formichetti, came across a photo of Rick on the interwebz and the rest is history. She flew him out to Paris to model in the Mugler men's fashion show, and offered him a cameo spot in Lady Gaga's music video for "Born This Way".

Since then, Rick was awarded the Guinness Book of World Records for "the most insects tattooed on the human body (178)" and "the most bones inked on a human body (138)".

He is currently enjoying a bit of a cult following, but according to his website he has "very little desire for material wealth". Instead, he "believes in maintaining his strong relationships and hopes that one day he will be able to give back to his friends back home all that they have given him." Sounds like a decent bloke. :-) Check out Rick's website after the jump.
