Coffee Time

Ricvictorian's Coffin Coffee Table. Just a few picts of my latest macabre project built on my apartment balcony.I made it myself using hand tools, a sander and spray paint. Well ... the antique coffin handles are the real deal. So if you suspected that I was crazy before this should help to confirm your suspicions.

Art Deco 'Coffin' Currently Up For Auction

These beauties are currently up for auction on-line and I sooo want this but just can't purchase every freaking curio that I stumble upon! It's an original 1920's French cigarette case. This rare piece is nicknamed by collectors as the 'Coffin Girls' . Although it's not Victorian it would sooo fit in with my esoteric collection. Besides ... I have always had a weakness for Art Deco items as well as Vic. If i bought it I would name the ladies after misspulga & The Vampire... Hahaha!

Coffin Couch - Redux!

Who's Yo Daddy? Jesse James' hideous lilac-colored coffin couch.

So you all probably remember [VonErickson's original coffin couch design] from a previous post I wrote... Very classy and elegant. Behold! It now comes in a pimpin' Jersey Shore version too (not created or endorsed by VonErickson). I can just imagine The Situation gettin' it on with a corpse... All that's missing are a few Ed Hardy emblems, and voilà! Bob's your dead uncle. If this couch had a velvet or leather interior - and if another color scheme was used, however, we *could* have ourselves a winner.

It is *très* unfortunate that both Kat Von D and Jesse James own one... I suppose we are just part of a larger Venn Diagram in which our awesome bubble is overlapping with theirs... *shudder*.

Has anyone else come across "coffin couches" they'd like to share? Do check out the link below for much nicer looking versions of the model featured in this post.

Dark, Romantic Dinner Venue

The Vampire Cafe, its interior, and a delicious dinner item.

Looking for a great place to take your loved one for a romantic dinner or a nice evening out? If the Gothic style suits you, The Vampire Cafe in the Ginza district in Tokyo, Japan is the perfect venue. The red-and-black colour scheme, coffins, ornate candelabras, and skulls provide the ambiance. The theme is carried right through to the meal on your plate. What an interesting and memorable experience!

Coffin Couch!

VonErickson's Original Coffin Couch.

The Vampire says: "Wow! Start the coffin couch fund! Seriously."

And el Presidente replies: "El Presidente wants! If this was a cult I would force you guys into hard labour just so I could get this. But it's a club, so I can't force you, but if you want to please me, you could all chip in and then you could come over to my house and sit on it..."

This coffin couch was beautifully crafted by Peter Von Erickson in New York. And the price is, *ahem*, $4,900 USD... so start saving your pennies! It'll totally be worth it. ;-)
